Neighborhood Networks (NN) is a community
based program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that
encourages the development of community technology centers in privately owned
HUD insured and assisted housing. HUD created NN in 1995 to encourage property
owners to establish multi-service community learning centers in HUD insured and
assisted properties. NN was one of the first federal initiatives to promote
self-sufficiency and help provide computer access to low-income housing
communities. NN helps to create healthy communities through the work of
thousands of residents, business people, government officials and other
partners.
